A 17-year-old was lynched by an angry mob in the colony The Incense, Zone 3, who was accused of murdering a sector trader minutes earlier.

The incident arose when a group of residents heard gunshots in the 6th. and 3rd Street. Avenue Zone 3, who died observing Chen Mynor Enrique Tejada, 36, his neighbor, left his home and surrounded the alleged killer for beleaguered.

The accused tried to flee, along with three men who were waiting a few blocks on two motorcycles, however, they noted the attitude of the residents, left to his accomplice, who died lynched.

Tejada Chen worked as a messenger and had a gas outlet, family, indicated that this person lived in the colony before Fourth of February, but by threats, moved to zone 3, where he lost his life today.

Backlash

Analysts and practitioners lament the practice of violence that people have taken in recent weeks, mainly in the capital, where a high level of insecurity.

Ana Maria Klein, distraught mother, believes that citizens are tired of the failed system of security and justice, those who react violently to this.

Klein is concerned, stating that these acts will continue if the government shows no willingness to stop the insecurity that afflicts the Guatemalans.

Juana Batzibal, director of the Policy Advocacy Unit of the Indigenous Peoples of the Center for Human Rights Legal Action (CALDH), believes that these practices of violence are the act of a society that is tired of the impunity and lack of act of the institutions.

Batziabal says that lynchings are widespread and not just from people of Indian origin, which states wrongly that they are the ones punished with "justice maya", as recent events show that the population in general.

Crime

For his part, Donald Gonzalez, a spokesman for the National Civil Police (PNC), indicates that lynchings were a crime and if the population engages in such practice will have to face justice.

The official indicated the need for a complaint with the security forces, who can not act if there is no support in the investigation.
